My cars making a funny whirring noise from the bonnet.?

I noticed my car was leaking water, i thought it was the overflow from the reservoir tank so didn't do much about it and a day later my car started making this weird whirring noise after i turn it off (sounds like a fan is shutting down after the car is turned off)
