Smoke coming from under bonnet?

would be a good idea to do a good thorough self check-oil,water,fan belt tightness etc...check oil,refill water,start it up,then let it idle.,DONT REV as the oil has to take its time to reach engine temp[revving messes up]and then restart it once you have done all this
